Happy 3rd Birthday Matti!

She started the day decorating cupcakes for her party.  I use the term "decorating" loosely as its mostly her eating the sprinkles!

Then she opened some presents.  Liam got her a Brave book, we got her the Brave movie, and some headphones she can use on the plane.

Then we headed over to my parent's house for her party.  All our family was there so it was really fun!  Look at those sweet girls having lunch!  It was a "princess" party so the girls dressed up as princesses.

She doesn't really enjoy being the center of attention, i think she just doesn't know what to do!  For those of you who have not been present at our family singing "happy birthday" it is loud, off key, off beat, and crazzzzzzy!  so i thought she might not like it, but she actually had a cute little smile on her face the whole time!  it took her a few tries but she blew out all her candles.

I talked with her before opening presents and told her that she needed to give a hug to everyone who bought her a present, and she did!  (sometimes i think she doesn't listen to a word I say, but then something sinks in and surprises me!) She got some very fun presents and since we've brought them home, she has played with each of them!

she was so funny opening presents... she had this almost serious look on her face, like this was a serious job and she was determined to do it right!  every once and awhile we got a cute smile out of her, especially when she hugged her cousins!  she loves them!

i should mention that a week before her birthday, she decided she wasn't going to nap anymore.  so she has rest time now, and she is much more grumpy until her early bedtime at 7!  it seemed like she had a great day though.  thanks to all our family for making it so!  we love you matti-moo!

make 'em laugh

she is good at making him laugh(and cry, but lets not get into that)

trimming the tree

we decided to get a tree even if we aren't going to be here all month.  matti is really enjoying the lights and she likes to rearrange the ornaments. surprisingly liam has left it alone for the most part.  look at how good he is standing these days! he actually took 2 steps a few days ago!

testing, testing

here's a cute video, if it works...

dinner with daddy

tom has been so busy with work and school that we take any chance we can get to spend time together, which means visiting him at work and bringing food!  matti loves watching movies on his projector and liam likes to pull all the books off his shelves.

here kitty kitty

matti adores cats, much to tom's dismay as he hates them!  this stray(i think) cat showed up at our back door and matti fell in love!  she really wanted to let it in, but that didn't happen, because tom was home(wonder what would have happened if he wasn't home...)

a little change

I needed a change and hair is the easiest thing, so here's my new haircut!  I really like it, and its been awhile since I had a haircut I really like!  the lady who cut it is quite chatty, but it was fun having an adult conversation.  She actually taught me how to correctly blow dry my hair and straighten it.  too bad it takes like a half hour and my kids give me 5 minutes at a time if i'm lucky!

you light up my life

can you see how his legs are? its like this weird pretzel shape and he bounces up and down.  it also helps him get a jump start to crawling super fast! and he's holding a plastic phone that he holds up to his ear and "talks" into it.  he sees and imitates everything!

he has started "dancing" when he hears music... he sits in that pretzel stance and bounces while waving his arms around like a windmill.  i love it!

Bacon, beds, and blanket forts

matti loves bacon!!! she gets that from her daddy, along with her long luscious eyelashes

this is actually liam's bed; she likes to sit in it when he gets up from his naps and watch her iPhone; her special alone time

she wanted to build a fort and i didn't want to get everything out, so i suggested she get in the pack n' play and we put a blanket over it while she watched a movie.  whew!  ingenuity saves the day!

matti says to tom the other day, "daddy, i love you, for a long time."
